Electric vehicles may run on batteries, but modern fleets increasingly run on data.
This World EV Day, attention will naturally focus on charging, range and the shift away from petrol and diesel. For fleet operators, though, another factor is becoming just as important: connectivity.
Battery electric vehicle registrations rose 27.7% year-on-year in August 2026, while fleets accounted for 57.2% of the UK new car market, according to the SMMT. As fleets become more electric, they are also becoming more connected.
